A LIFETIME OF DEDICATION TO THE PEREGRINE FUND

Python eagle wings

The Peregrine Fund partners with the Kenya Bird of Prey trust to rehabilitate vultures that are sick, but still alive, from poisoning events. Recently four birds were cared for and released after being poisoned. We know they are doing well, because we were able to attach GPS telemetry units to the birds and can track their movements. Vultures are such long-lived birds that only start breeding at 4 to 7 years – and then produce only a single chick each breeding attempt. Therefore, it is important we try to save every single vulture affected by poisoning. We are hopeful these rehabilitated vultures prove capable of breeding again one day. Your purchase helps to support our work to save vultures that have become ill from poisoning.
