Dr. Munir Virani is The Chief Executive Officer at the Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor, but he was just a young student in Kenya when he first became acquainted with the organization. Growing up, Munir had spent hours watching wildlife documentaries and marveling at the work of field biologists. He wanted to be out there…in the field, working with wild animals, and making a difference. He got that chance when he was invited to be a part of The Peregrine Fund’s student program. Armed with this support, Munir developed his skills as a biologist, earned a Masters and PhD, and went on to inspire and train many other conservation leaders as the Director of Africa Programs for many years.
