A LIFETIME OF DEDICATION TO THE PEREGRINE FUND
When Dr. Darcy Ogada goes on an expedition to study vultures, it can sometimes be a harrowing experience. This was the case on a trip she took to Mt. Marsabit in Northern Kenya. It was a 10-day journey to put telemetry units on vultures to follow their movements across a rapidly changing landscape. Darcy and her team, including Martin Odino (pictured), went into the area with trepidation because of the notoriety of the region for lacking security and the harsh climate. What they found, however, was warm communities of people and vultures by the hundreds. The trip was a success and your purchase will continue to enable our teams to study vultures in hard to reach places to understand better how we can work with local communities to save them.
