For the Namib, virgin lambs wool knit is the canvas for a cable and seed-knit turtleneck, the former seeming to overlie the latter as they climb up the sleeves and the sweater front and back. Sleeve cuffs, bottom hem, and the turtleneck itself are rib knit, complementing the way the garment comfortably hugs the body. Whereas other cable knits in the collection create a continual combination of knit patterns, the Namib is content to keep things simple; and the result focuses attention almost exclusively on the cableknit and seed-knit patterns. As he does with all styles in his signature collection, Robert Comstock hand-signs and numbers each piece.
