In January 2019, Eric Ole Reson, one of The Peregrine Fund’s PhD students, found 20 dead and 5 critically ill vultures in the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. The vultures had all fed on a poisoned hyena, but fortunately, Eric had been trained in the forensics of wildlife poisoning intervention and knew what to do. The hyena and poisoned vultures were immediately burned to decontaminate the scene. His quick actions prevented the deaths of other vultures and scavengers by removing the poison from the environment. Your purchase will enable us to continue providing educational opportunities for students, like Eric, who are working to protect wildlife.
