A LIFETIME OF DEDICATION TO THE PEREGRINE FUND
When The Peregrine Fund holds a Wildlife Poisoning Intervention Workshop, participants are fully trained in vital aspects of signs and symptoms of wildlife poisoning, information about chemicals commonly used, safety of staff and basic equipment required, scene investigation and collection of samples, assessment of mortalities (species, age, sex, etc), legal process, forensics and relevant legislation, emergency treatment and evacuation of live specimens from the scene, sterilization of the scene to prevent further poisoning, data capture and dissemination, and poisoning intervention planning. Since the first technical training done in Kenya, in Masai Mara in November 2016, the number of wildlife poisoning incidents have noticeably reduced and is attributed to an increase in the number of trained personnel in the field who are able to effectively respond to poisoning incidents to reduce further poisoning as well as conduct community level intervention trainings. Your purchase will support continued training to empower people to respond quickly and effectively to poisoning events.
